First Holy Communion

Hello friends,

It's the 'An Encouraging Word' IG Hop today inspired by the verse John‬ ‭6‬:‭35 “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst.” So I made this First Holy Communion card.

Products Used:
Chalice & host dies (company unknown), #LDRS (embossing folder) & #stampsimply (sentiment)

The chalice was cut from gold cardstock, the rays from paper with a pearly sheen, the host and cross from white cardstock. A panel of cardstock was embossed and the elements were glued onto the oval of the card front. The card was finished off with a stamped sentiment inside the card.

Challenges entered:
#diecutdivas - anything die cut + 3 R's (chocolate packaging for chalice)
#paperfunday - anything goes
#pammiesinkypinkies - anything goes
#wordartwednesday - anything goes

Have a lovely day.

Daisies w/ Negative Die Cuts

Hello,

I'm sharing this card I made for the PFS September Challenge: 'Again and Again'. I had saved the negative die cuts of last month's card and decided to put them to use. I played with them, arranging them in different ways and finally thought of using the negatives again and again for Daisy petals and leaves.

Products used:
#pinkfreshstudio (Spiral Circle- negatives, Geometric Tile stencil- background, Fancy Edgers, & Basic Banners- sentiment), #nuvo (creative pens), #catherinepooler (ink), decorative scissors (for leaves) & sequins

A cardstock panel was stencilled using two stencils. The edges were die cut from coloured cardstock, glued to either side of the panel and then adhered to the card base.
As all the negative die cuts were facing in the same direction, a few were flattened with the bone folder and coloured individually using alcohol markers. The stems were drawn and fussy cut, while the leaves were given a jagged edge with decorative scissors.
Next, all the petals and leaves were shaped and given dimension with flower shaping tools. An oblong shape was drawn and fussy cut, and the petals were glued onto it. A second oblong piece was coloured yellow and glued over it.
To assemble, the stems were glued in place, followed by the flowers and leaves. Tinsel glitter was glued to the flower centres for a dramatic effect.
The stamped and die cut banner was given extra dimension with additional die cut banner shapes. Sequins were added to finish the card.

Challenges entered:
#pinkfreshstudio - again & again (negative die cuts, edges, sentiment banner)
#diecutdivas - die cut + 3 R's (negative die cuts)
#paperfunday - anything goes
#wordartwednesday - anything goes
#sssmonday - more than one stencil. Used 2
#pammiesinkypinkies - anything goes
#beautifulblossoms - anything goes
#NBUS - the die was NBU until last month, and the negatives are from that 1st time use.

Have a beautiful day.

Patchwork Card

Hello friends,

I'm sharing this patchwork card I made, inspired by the soft colors at Sunbird Spark challenge.

Products used:
#heroarts (stamps), #catherinepooler (inks), square mat die & #waffleflower (sentiment)

Six tile stamps with similar designs were paired together for a coordinated look. Each pair was stamped twice in the same color, then die cut individually. The tiles were glued diagonally, leaving a space, starting from the bottom and working upward, and finished with a stamped sentiment.

Challenges entered:
#sssmonday - own background
#paperfunday - anything goes
#wordartwednesday - anything goes
#polkadoodles - anything goes

Have a lovely day.

Inspired by Booti Fabric

Hello friends,

I'm sharing this card I made for the Papertrey Ink Challenge, inspired by Booti fabric print, using some old forgotten supplies which I last used in 2019.

Products used:
#papertreyink (Woodblock Prints- stamp, Shaped Sayings- Birthday die & Huge Sentiments- stamp), #ranger (distress oxide inks- Spun Sugar, Fossilised Amber & Carved Pumpkin) & #catherinepooler (ink- Orange Twist to stamp)

The watercolor panel was ink blended using colors inspired by the challenge. As the colors seemed too contrasting when applied as bands, the inks were applied to an acrylic sheet, spritzed with water, then the panel was placed over it to achieve the desired effect. Once dry, the grid sheet was used as a guide to stamp the image in rows onto the panel. The edges of the panel were inked in black, then glued to the card base. The sentiment was die cut in black and white, and the circular portion around it was trimmed away. The white sentiment was adhered to the card, followed by the black, slightly offset to tie up with the edge of the card and finished with the stamped 'To you'.

Challenges entered:
#sssmonday - own background
#paperfunday - anything goes
#wordartwednesday - anything goes
#polkadoodles - anything goes
#artnudge - inspired by colors

Have a lovely day.

Glitter Stencilling

Hello friends,

I'm sharing this card I made for the IG Hop 'Stencil Fun' with the optional theme of butterflies. I pulled out this old metal stencil to play with glitter. It took a couple of hours & was a messy affair, but I was satisfied with the end result.

Products used:
#dreamweaver (stencil), glitter, sticker paper, #tayloredexpressions (die for edges) & #SRM (sticker sentiment)

A sticker paper panel, the same size as the stencil, was glued to a slightly wider piece of cardstock. The stencil was placed over it after removing the release paper. Since multiple colours of glitter were used, the image was masked in sections and burnished with the release paper. I started with the leaves and stems, followed by the flower clusters and butterflies, using two shades of orange and then black. The stencil was gently peeled off, and white glitter was applied over the entire panel and burnished. The edges were die cut for the dotted impression, trimmed and adhered to the card base. A sticker sentiment completed the long process.

Challenges entered:
#paperfunday - anything goes
#wordartwednesday - anything goes
#ssswednesday - add some texture
#polkadoodles - anything goes
#pinkgem - anything goes
#artnudge - inspired by colors
#tripleB - butterflies
#NBUS - stencil which I had since 2015

Have a beautiful Sunday.
