Sharing this card I made for the IG Hop, 'An Encouraging Word'. 

Products used: 

#stamplorations (overlap stencil) #catherinepoolerinks, #lawnfawn (mat die), #papertreyink (stamp) & flower sequins. 

The background was masked and ink blended, inspired by the colors in the graphic below. The panel was adhered to the card base, the stamped Psalm mat was glued in place and finished off with sequins. Negatives of a number die were used for the flower centres.

Hawaiian Coral Peony

Hi friends,

The colors of the Altenew Inspiration Challenge this month have a cool, tropical, spring vibe, and I felt inspired to join in by featuring the beautiful Hawaiian coral Peony with layered foliage in the background to create a sense of garden harmony.

To begin, a panel of watercolor paper was embossed after inking the debossed side of the embossing folder with blue ink. The raised leaves were then highlighted by gently rubbing the ink pad over them. The layer of leaves in the background was coloured using a detailed, angled blending brush. 

The flower and leaves were stamped in layers, then shaped with the flower shaping tool to add dimension and reveal embossed and debossed areas, which are difficult to capture on camera. 

I wanted the flower to have a stem. The thickest stem on the embossing folder appeared too thin for the flower, so a piece of watercolor paper was inked, embossed and cut along the edges of the thick stem. This piece was then glued over the original embossed stem, so that it is more proportionate to the size of the flower.

The edge of the embossed panel was inked and adhered to the card base. The flower and leaves were arranged above the stem and finished off with a stamped, die cut sentiment.

Colorful Floral Lace

Hello friends,

I've been playing with stencils again. But this time, with my favourite Newton's Nook stencil, inspired by the vibrant colors in the graphic below.

Products used:

The stencil was inked, inspired by the colours in the graphic below and with a lot of masking involved in the process. To make this A6 card, the panel was cut in half, adhered to either end of the card base, then the stamped sentiment strip was added in the centre, and finished with bling.

Peony Fantasy Postage Collage

Hello friends,

I'm thoroughly enjoying myself with layering stencils and recently inked this Pinkfresh stencil. After inking the panel, I wished I'd bought the die as well. But, a few days later, I got a brainwave to use the postage collage instead, and I'm happy with the result.

Fancy Rose Bunch

I'm back today to share this card I made for the IG Hop, 'An Encouraging Word'. The designated verse was Lamentations 3:22-23.

The layering stencils were inked, inspired by the colours in the graphic below, then stamped and die cut. The online calligraphy generator was used for the printed sentiment and finished with die cut bling.

Tonic Studios - Aztec Allium

Hello friends,

Sharing this card I made for the IG Hop, 'Stencil Fun' with the optional theme 'New' this month. Although I've owned this die and stencil set for more than six years, this was my first time using it. As a matter of fact, both the product and approach were new to me.

Products used:

A panel of watercolor paper was die cut and ink blended. The stencil was used to dry emboss over a light box. Silver ink was gently rubbed over the embossed areas. The die-cut panel was then adhered to black cardstock and glued to the card base, covered with grunge designer paper. The sentiment was stamped on the designer paper, die cut and adhered in place. The card was finished off with glossy dots, two of which were carefully cut to fit the half flower centers.

Clematis Blooms

Happy Easter!! Today I'm here to share a card I made for the CASE it hop on Instagram. My CASE was Sandi Maciver, inspired by the floral arrangement on a black embossed background. 

Products used: 

#bliss&brass (Clematis die), embossed background from my RAK, #justrite (sentiment die), colored cardstock, #catherinepoolerinks & #stampabilities (gold pigment ink)

The Clematis flowers and leaves were die cut from coloured cardstock, ink blended, then given dimension with the flower moulding tools. Gold ink was rubbed over the embossed damask panel for a subtle gold layer. The flowers were arranged and finished off with a die cut sentiment that was layered for dimension.
