Monochromatic recycled card

Hello
Hope all of you are well wherever you are. It’s been so hectic here ever since school began on 1st.Aug.Thank God a weekend has come by quickly so I could share a card I made with you almost 2 weeks ago for an 'Anything goes challenge with a twist' at For the Love of Crafting Challenge Blog. I’m really pleased how my card turned out and I hope you like it too. These are the best pics I could get using my cell phone from different angles as the digi cam is not-functional. By the way, my monitor is also dead and I'm using my DD's laptop to post this. I will visit you'll after get a new monitor in a week or two.

Here's a close up of the flowers. Can you guess what they are made of??

Supplies used:
Brown cardstock for card base
Corrugated paper from packaging for panel
Jute & burlap cord on either side of the corrugated paper
Flowers made using Ferrero Rocher paper cases
Swirls & flower centres from a Cadbury box
Sentiment is an outline sticker.
Scissors, glue, McGill word tag punch & 3D foam tape
Instructions to make the flowers:
Cut each chocolate case into 8 triangular wedges,
Shape each wedge individually into circular petal.
Glue 5 petals around a circle of  cardstock same size as the flower centre
To make the larger flower I used 15 petals in 3 layers & for the smaller flower 10 petals in 2 layers.
Cover the top with the flower centre (a circle gold paper)
Gently turn the petals upwards for dimension.
Then glue your completed flower wherever you please.
Simple isn’t it?

Fly Butterfly

Hello!
Hope you are all enjoying a beautiful Sunday. It’s almost Sunday evening here now, thought I’d quickly post a card which I’d meant to some days ago, but I never got here. Time is just flying so fast, summer vacations are nearing their end, it’s back to school on Aug’1 and there’s so much to be done. Here’s the card I’d made for my sis some months ago and am sharing today.

The butterfly was stamped using a clear stamp directly onto the card and some on a piece of cardstock. Then colored, cut, glued the body onto the coordinating colored butterfly on the card, then folded the wings upwards for dimension. The stamp sets used are…flowers are from GinaK-Hip to be a Square, label is from Ippity-Season of Joy and the sentiment from Stampendous-Birthday Brackets.  All the coloring was done using both Crayola and Prismacolor pencils.  If any of you know what company the butterfly stamp belongs to, please let me know in your comment. Thank you. After previewing this, I noticed that the card has a greenish hue on the left corner. No idea how it happened while picturing or editing, but the original color is white.

Have a 'Cherry' day!

Hi!
Hope you are all having a ‘Cherry’ day. Here’s a card I made for Crafty Ribbons CAS challenge a few days ago and almost forgot about it. Posting this in a hurry as the linky will close in a few hours.

I made a tall card as I wanted to show more of the cherry pick ribbon from Crafty Ribbons. The sentiment is partly stamped. The word ‘cherry’ is a rub on.
Wishing all my friends in USA a happy 4th of July.

A sad farewell

Hi!
Thanks for all your beautiful comments & good wishes on my last post regarding my decision to sell my cards & give part of the proceeds in aid of the leprosy center (MALC). I just hope my plans as to how to go about selling the cards materialize once I discuss the same with a lady who I know would be able to guide me further.
After almost a week of being ill, I’m here today to share a card I’d made in April for the principal (a nun & a  friend to all teachers) who got transferred to another school. The card measures 8.5” x 12”, so all the teachers could individually sign in the card. I got all the signatures first, then completed the card, showed them and placed it in an empty Lindt chocolate box which I covered with light purple glazed paper and tied it with a broad satin ribbon in dark purple. I forgot to picture the box in all the rush. But here are some pics. of  the card.

Here's a close up of the words and...

a close up of the embellishments.

The words are from a Hallmark card I’d received from my colleagues almost 19 yrs ago. I altered the words slightly, made my own digital version, printed it and cut it into an oval. All papers used for layering are coloured A4 sheets. The embossed paper is from India. Other materials used are lace, ribbon, flowers, leaves, handmade wines of green wire & punched butterflies to which I added 3 tiny rhinestones for the body & diamond stickles for the wings.

Thanks for visiting. Have a wonderful weekend!!

Leprosy is under control . . . Let us Rejoice and be Glad.

Hi !
Thanks for all your lovely comments and visits lately. I just made this card and could not wait to share it with you along with some good news.
Since I started blogging, I've gained some wonderful friends, won giveaways and some even sent me RAK, as no craft supplies are available here in Pakistan. All along the cards I shared on my blog were either made to send someone or just because I felt like crafting. I have a collection of cards now and felt I needed to do something about them. Any guess?
For centuries, leprosy has been feared and misunderstood. As a result those affected by this disease, were cast aside by society. Thanks to the living saint Dr.Ruth Phau, due to whose efforts, leprosy is under control in Pakistan according to the WHO.
Every Sunday when  see this living saint in church, I feel very privileged. For we know that someday, she will be one among the heavenly saints. Since last year my three kids have been going to the leprosy centre for voluntary service during their summer vacation. Today, I told my daughter to speak to the resource officer about my plan and got permission to link their website to my blog.
Yes, I decided to sell my cards and give part of the proceeds to the Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre (MALC). Now, this wouldn't have been possible without all the generous hearts who have giveaways or extra generous hearts who sent me crafting supplies as RAK. Remember, you are also part of what I intend to do and surely God will bless you too.
So today, with a joyful heart, I made this card for a challenge at Stampin' Sisters in Christ. The challenge is to create something that reflects you. CAS, is my style of crafting. That's exactly what I am. Simple! I'm also called a clean freak at times as I go berserk at the sight of untidiness or dust & clean till I drop dead tired.
Thanks for reading what I had to share with you today.  Now, here's my card.

Supplies used:
Miss Elizabeth's Vellum Stickers "Jesus Loves Me"
Assorted Rhinestones
Watercolors
Hard toothbrush
Ruler

In Sympathy

Hi!
Hope all of you are enjoying your summer vacations doing whatever you please just like I am. Yes, crafting is what I'm doing most. The heat is unbearable so I cook something quick & get away to craft. My latest makes have been sympathy cards as my DH's BIL lost his three years long battle with cancer. Here's the first card I made for my SIL. The inspiration for which was from Clean & Simple for a sketch challenge.

A Glittery CAS card

Hi!
Thanks a lot for all the lovely comments I received on my last post. With the summer vacations on, I craft as much as possible. I seldom crafted for a particular challenge before, but today I have done so especially for two challenges.. one at The Play Date Cafe using the colors Aquamarine,Poolside,Clay, and for Dream It Up using glitter.
As usual I'm not very good at photography so this card below doesn't do much justice. Anyway here it is...

Hello friends!
School is still on, I’m busy with test corrections, but, I could not refuse the offer for being the guest designer on my favorite challenge blog Flashback Friday, So, I’m here earlier than I thought.
Without further ado, if you came here from Alyssa’s blog, then, you’re in the right track. If not, head on to...

Flashback Friday Challenge is all about re-posting your first project, but NOT linking it up to your original post. It’s that simple that’s why I love it. You’re a genius Amy for coming up with this bright idea.
This weeks Flashback Friday challenge #24, is to flash back your first masculine card. The challenge runs from today May 25th to June 15th.

The challenge prize of 3 files of your choice in any format is being sponsored by...

Perfect Presentation
Also, the top 3 projects will be picked; one of them will be the prize winner and gets to pick the next Flashback FridayChallenge, while the other 2 also get to be guest designers.

Now, here’s my first masculine card…

This card was made using the Anthon Berg liqueur chocolate wrapper for the bottle and thick plastic from the backing of a clear stamp for the glass. HERE's my original post.
Now, head on over to Amy's blog.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a fabulous weekend!
