Card with a recycled chocolate wrapper

Hi!
   I've been trying to get here since yesterday, but somehow did not manage to. I hope to stay up & get this done tonight. Well, although craft supplies are not available here, I’m thankful that at least there’s thrash for me to craft with. lol. Being a family of chocolate lovers, my in-laws always get us a variety of chocolates whenever they visit from Canada or the UK. The first thing I do is, examine the box, tray & wrappers for any possibilities to re-use them and accordingly instruct the rest to save them for me. The same was the case with the chocolate wrappers used in this card I made for my BIL whose b’day was yesterday.

The recycled elements used in this card are the Anthon Berg liqueur chocolate wrapper for the bottle and thick plastic from the backing of a clear stamp for the glass. Both were slightly curved for a 3D effect and adhered using foam tape and glue drops respectively; to a background roughly stamped with Gina K-Live life loud stamp set. Bronze colored glitter was stuck on the inner side of the glass to depict the sparkling drink. The paper on either side is Cosmo Cricket, cut with scallop edged scissors. The sentiments on it were stamped with Crafter’s Companion-Humphrey’s B’day Girl; then written over with metallic bronze prismacolor pencil. The main sentiment is an SRM sticker on a punched tag using McGill word tag punch. Most of the supplies used for this card is from my RAK goodies. I find making cards for men very challenging. But, I quite enjoyed making this card and am pleased as to how it turned out. I hope you’ll like it too.

"Link Up the Love Party" Thanks a Bunch

   It's time again for another monthly "Link Up the Love Party" with K Andrew! The aim of this party is to find new blogs, share your blog, pass the love on... 

and share your favorite "Thanks/Blessings" project. So here's my favorite with quilled roses.

This is my first attempt at an easel card and quilled spiral roses. The scalloped circle was drawn free hand and cut manually.

50th Birthday!

    Hope you'll are enjoying your Sunday. I've been busy completing my last few X'mas cards. Now I'll quickly share a card I made for my SIL in Canada whose b'day was last week.

The embossing is done on a panel of pearlised cardstock, using the Fiskars Scarpboss-border, frames and corner stencil set, which this same SIL recently got me. She just happened to see it at ?Michael's and picked it up. I do not have an embossing system. So, I used my mum's flower shaping tools instead. The 50 was manually cut, outlined with glitter glue and adhered with 3D foam tape. The edges of the panel were also outlined in a similar manner and layered on plain white card stock which was covered with a glitter border. I had to do this to save on pearlised card stock, which is not always available here. 

My SIL liked the card. I hope you'll like it too.

Eid Mubarak!!!

Hi!
   I'm back soon as I said yesterday, especially to wish ET (Erum) from Vibgyor Krafts a Happy Eid besides all those celebrating the festival. This Eid is the festival of sacrifice to commemorate Abraham's sacrifice of the ram in place of his son Issac. So here's my card for ET.

The background of this is handmade embossed paper and rose petal papers from India. The edges of the rose petal paper were distressed. The quilling shape is the basic eye shape. Loose coils were uses for flourish and  a sequence for the flower center . It was finished off with glitter around the plain white edges of the card.

Repostiong my first card with a banner

Hello my friends!

   I'm here pretty soon right? Well today it's just to link up to Flashback Friday Challenge.  I love Flashback Friday because all I have to do is just repost an old creation and whenever I have a card for the challenge, I never fail to link up so as to keep my blog alive. This time the challenge is to repost the first card you blogged about that featured a banner. So, here's my card with a banner. Please excuse the blurred image. 

The embossed panel here, was just one of the 15 different ones sent to me by ET from Vibgror Crafts as RAK. The banner was drawn and manually cut, used alphadotz for 'girl' and joined the four with silver thread. The thread was looped at both ends and hung on pins with pearly white heads. Strips of craft paper from Itsy Bitsy were used as a trim for the embossed panel. The sentiment is a rub-on sticker and finally, I added some faux stitching around. Hope to be back here soon. Have a beautiful Sunday.   

In Sympathy

Hi friends!
   I hope those of you celebrating Halloween had a fabulous time. I have been busy making sympathy cards lately. Besides a family friend who lost her husband, Susan  from Imagine, Create, Express lost her father a fortnight ago. I know I should have been here earlier to inform those of you who know her. Anyway, I'm here today with a simple card I made for the family friend.

The background paper is from RAK sent by Nina & the flowers are part of the giveaway I won at Lori's blog. The sentiment is K&Company's monogram transfer I won at Amy Jo's blog. Thanks to you my friends for the crafting supplies you so generously offer. Certainly, I wouldn't have reached this far with no supplies available here.
