Birthday Candles

Hello!
    A happy Sunday to you all. Here's another CAS card for the MFT sketch challenge. 

Supplies used:

MFT-Washi tape die-namics (for candles)
Stampin'Up papers
Elizabeth Craft Designs-Triple leaf set (for flames)
leather paper (from India)
kraft paper
Stampendous-Birthday brackets (sentiment)
chalk pastels
    Using one paper of each colour with simple designs from the Stampin'Up pad, the five candles were die cut using the smallest washi tape die. Then one end of each was again die cut using the other two dies so that each candle had a different shape at the flame end. The flames were cut with the leaf die from leather paper which has both texture and shine. After arranging the candles, a glow was added to each using chalk pastels.

MFT Sketch & Colour

Hi!
    Thanks for your visits and encouraging comments. I'm back with a card for MFT challenges ...sketch and colour. I like the way it turned out and I hope you like it too.

    The inspiration for this card is from MFT card challenges...

I just happened to find a paper with the right colours in my collection. I cut it out around the design on the paper, added kraft, the die cut letters and stamped 'you'. That was how it was supposed to end. But as an ink boo-boo needed to be hidden, the bling landed there and as the shiny bling looked lonesome, I added ice stickles on the foam alphabets.

Papertrey May Blog Hop Challenge

Happy Birthday Fashion Girl

Hello!
    I'm here today to share a card made with a Unity girl stamp coloured by my daughter two years ago. I just completed the card for the girl challenge on the Unity facebook page

Supplies used:
Unity-Roxanne Fashionista (image) 
Crayola colour pencils
Lefranc & Bourgeois pan watercolours (background)
designer paper from RAK
confetti (sentiment)
Ranger glossy accents
Ranger ice stickles
    The image was stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with colour pencils. The background was watercoloured, the image was fussy cut halfway at the legs to add designer paper to resemble the floor. Glossy accents were added to the bangle, belt and button of bag and a touch of ice stickles to the closing flap of the bag and top of the sandles. After splattering some black ink on the blank half of the card, I added the confetti sentiment. I used two...yellow at the bottom for a shadow effect.

A Single Rose

Hi!
    Happy Monday to you all. I was bored at work a few days ago, just felt like drawing...so got a picture of a rose online, drew it and then painted it. Today, I used the image to make this card. Inspiration for the sketch and background are from the challenge images linked below.

More Blooms with Felt

Hi there!
    I continued playing with felt and my new toys and made another card later yesterday.

    The card base was first sprayed with gold acrylic paint, more towards the embellished side. Next, the petals of the die cut flowers were shaped with the ball tool for moulding flowers, while the flowers with the spiky petals and leaves were given dimension with a thick needle. The arrangement was started with two of fancy flourish die cuts and flowers and leaves added on it. I finished off with a die cut butterfly, coloured the body, drew its feelers and added the sentiment.

Fun with Felt

Hello!
    I'm a happy mom because my son is home from university for his summer vacation. Since the end of last year I had been lucky and won gift vouchers for blog hops and challenges...I had my stuff mailed to my daughter which my son brought along, so I'm a very happy crafter too. The challenges at SSS are all to do with felt. I had some unused felt paper from India for years...which I finally put to use using my new toys.

Marie's-Silver acrylic paint
recycled invitation (for circle die cut)
MFT-Cross stitch circle STAX
MFT-Thanks so very much (sentiment)

Taylored Expressions-Mini bloomers 
Elizabeth Craft Designs-Triple leaf set

Maryann Design Creatable (yellow flower centers)
Stampendous-silver bling stickers (flower centers)
Ranger-Ice stickles (on yellow flower centers)

Scor-tape 1/8"
    The card base was first sprayed with silver acrylic paint. The circle was die cut from an invitation card, sentiment stamped, then added the felt paper floral arrangement. The swirls are parts of the fancy flourish die cut and the yellow flower centers sections of the Mariann Creatable die. I finished off with this particular ribbon as its design sort of matched the cross stitch around the circle die.

Retiform Technique

Hi!
    Just could not get here earlier and doing a quick post to share the card I made for a challenge at Mod Squad using this fun technique.

CASual Friday-Wish Big stamps
Vivid-Aqua (for the sections) 
Tsukineko-Brilliance-Pearlescent sky blue (largest design)
                  Memento-Danube blue (sentiments)
                  Splendor-#10 circus
                  VersaColor-Lapislazuli 
Ranger distress ink-Salty ocean (panel edge)
    Created this card using the retiform technique using all the shades of blue inks and the only CASual Friday stamp set I had. I used 8 out of the 9 stamps in this lovely set and finished off with distress ink around the edge of the panel.

Embossed Flowers

    Happy Saturday to you all. My Saturday is almost nearing it's end. I spent it clearing up my craft space and after I was done, I made this quick card. 

Supplies used:
ready embossed paper (from India)
Copic sketch markers-Floral Favorites (for flowers)
Crayola super tip markers (for leaves)
Marie's silver acrylic paint
ribbon (recycled from an invitation card)
oval die cut from RAK
Stampin'Up!-Petite Pairs (sentiment)
double sided foam tape
Rangers ice stickles 
    The ready embossed paper was glued on the card base. After colouring the flowers and leaves, I added some glimmer to the card. To do this, I mixed a few drops of water in a small blob of acrylic paint in a spritz bottle. I used the bottle of a body spray, so my card has some floral scent as well. Next, I adhered the ribbon and sentiment and finished off with ice stickles for flower centres.

Stencilling

Hi!
    I hope all you mum's had a fabulous day yesterday. Mine was spent doing what I love most...crafting...and ordered meals from out. Here's one of the cards I made.

Supplies used:
Dreamweaver stencils (flower & sentiment)
Tsukineko-Splendor #10Circus ink
Rangers ice stickles (flower center)
Marie's-gold acrylic paint
    The stencil image was inked with bits of sponge and ice stickles were added to the flower center. In a similar manner, the sentiment was inked with yellow ink, then with black and finished off with splatters of  gold acrylic paint.

A name plaque

Hello!
    No card again...but another project I'd made for my daughter. A name plaque for her dorm room. The colours used are the university colours blue and gold, purple the dorm colour and weasels the dorm mascot. All the words on the plaque are motto's and what the students of the university and dorm are called. Yes, I'm blessed to be an ND mom. J

Supplies used:
thick blue card-stock from an old book cover
yellow A4 paper
fixation spray
Crayola colour pencils
remnant strips of wooden lamination 
alpha stickers
double sided foam tape
    The weasel image was found via the search engine, downloaded, flipped one, printed, coloured and fussy cut. The motto's etc. were typed, printed in different fonts, torn, glued all over the blue background and sprayed with fixation spray, which also gave it a shine. Next the wooden strips were glued in the form of a standing sign board and the alpha stickers were used for their names (edited to protect identity). Finally the weasels were given dimension by turning them over on either side with the hairbrush handle and adhered in place with foam tape. Sorry, forgot to take a pic to show dimension.

No card but. . . .A Bed Caddy

    Thanks for all your visits and encouraging comments on my posts last month. Believe me I made history on my blog last month...see blog archive on the right and also the achievements (challenges won) above that. It does feel good to craft and blog regularly and I'll try my best to continue to do so. Today I'm not going to share a card as I always did before, but a recycled project which I was actually supposed to share on Earth Day, but had browser issues. As I came across the ABC challenge that was perfectly fit for my post, I decided to share it today. So here's the bed caddy I made for my daughter.

Supplies used:
jeans, 2 buckles, button (recycled)
lining fabric
cord
elastic
velcro
flower stencil
pearlescent fabric paint
    Inspiration for this project was from various pics of bed caddy's from online sources. I made my own using jeans fabric from a long skirt my daughter wanted shortened, my son's outgrown jeans and husbands slightly stained jeans. That's why different shades of blue are seen. The largest pocket with a 3" base was lined with another fabric. The next broad pocket was flat. It was held shut with a jeans button & cord. Then there are four pockets clearly visible on the front and one on either side. The side visible with the bottle has a bit of elastic to hold the bottle snug. The pocket on the other side was from my husbands jeans pocket, gathered at the base and loose at the top. Eight compartments in all. To fit the caddy to the bed, I sewed a broad piece, attached some velcro as well as two buckles. The entire project was machine sewn and finished with stencilled flowers.
