Tricolor Patchwork

Hello friends,

I'm not a fan of bold colors. But I was fascinated by the colors of mood board challenge at 'Just Us Girls' and had to make this card.

Products Used:
Color cardstock, #alinacutle (patchwork dies), #lilinker (stitched square die), #waffleflower (sentiment), #wow (embossing powder) & sequins

Several pieces of cardstock were die cut. They were then glued to a square paper starting from the center, until the square was complete. Next it was die cut with a square mat die, then adhered to the card base. The sentiment was heat embossed and finished off with sequins.

Challenges entered:
#wordartwednesday - anything goes

#diecutdivas - Birthday w/ die cut
#allsorts - anything goes
#acutabove - anything die cut

Soap Bubbles w/ Psalm 28:7

Hello friends,

Here's a card I made for the IG Hop, 'An Encouraging Word', using the colors and sketch from the two graphic images towards the end of this post. As always, capturing the bubbles and shine was the most difficult part.

Products used:
Dishwashing liquid, #tombow (brush pens to color), gold acrylic paint, #papertreyink (stamp), ##ldrs (fancy rectangle die) & #pinkfreshstudio (fancy edger die)

The bubbles were made by blowing into the soap solution with a straw and gently transferring them onto a panel of watercolor paper. A polythene sheet was randomly colored with brush pens and placed over the bubbles to transfer the color. After letting it dry, the process was repeated with gold acrylic paint. Once dried, the panel was stamped, die cut and finished off with lacy edges in gold to comply with the sketch.

Challenges entered:
#colordare - colors are subtle after getting diluted with soap
#CAS -sketch
#wordartwednesday - anything goes
#polkadoodles - anything goes
#allsorts - anything goes
#wordpower - sentiment in focus
#pammiesinkypinkies - anything goes
#NBUS - new edgers die

Edited to add: A little recognition for this card…

Have a lovely day.

Dainty Flowers

Hello friends,

Happy Monday! I'm sharing a card I made using an embossing folder, inspired by the colors in the graphic below.

Products used:
#darice ('Dainty Flowers'- embossing folder), #nuvo (alcohol markers, shimmer powder & crystal drops), #papertreyink (sentiment die) & sequins

A panel of watercolor paper was embossed, and the flowers and leaves were colored with alcohol markers. shimmer powder was mixed with water and loosely applied to the background. Sequins were used for the larger flower centers and crystal drops for the smaller flowers. The card was finished with a die cut sentiment in gold with a white shadow die cut and adhered with foam tape for added dimension.

Celebrating Spring Fling

Hello friends,

There's a Spring Fling party at Stamplorations and this was the perfect opportunity for me to make use of the Cutplorations flower dies I've been hoarding for almost a decade.

Products used:
#cutplorations (dies- 'Trendy Spring Blooms') #artplorations (stencil- 'Bubble Dance') #catherinepooler (inks- 'Peppermint Scrub' & 'Green Tea' for flowers & leaves) #stampabilities (gold ink for background) & color cardstock pieces.

Gold and black cardstock were adhered to the card base. The sentiment was die cut thrice to layer the sentiment for dimension and glued to the card front. The flowers were die cut thrice in color cardstock to inlay color within the gold edge. Before inlaying, the flowers were colored with a detailed brush for subtle depth. Likewise, the leaves were die cut in color cardstock and colored. Stencilling the background in gold was an afterthought. So the stencil was rotated to use areas with smaller bubbles. Then the inlaid die cuts were adhered diagonally opposite to finish the card.

Challenges entered:
#stamplorations -spring fling & anything goes
#ssswednesday - use dies
#diecutdivas - Birthday w/ die cut
#wordartwednesday - anything goes
#allsorts - anything goes
#wordpower - sentiment in focus
#NBUS - new layering stencils & sentiment stamp

Have a great day.

Color Layering Mandala

Hello friends,

Sharing a card I made for the Stencil Fun IG Hop featuring the Hero Arts color layering mandala.

Products used:
#heroarts (layering stencils), #catherinepooler (inks), #LDRS (fancy rectangle die), #divinitydesigns (sentiment) & flower sequins.

The stencils were inked in layers. I often make A6 cards. The stencilled area is meant to perfectly fit an A2 card. I chose this sketch to show more of the stencilled area by covering the lower portion with part of the die cut shape and cut off the extra. The sentiment was stamped & finished off with flower sequins to which I added the negatives of a die for flower centers.

Challenges entered:
#asyoulikeit - why this sketch (in description above)
#wordartwednesday - anything goes
#allsorts - anything goes
#NBUS - new layering stencils & sentiment stamp

Edited to add: A little recognition for this card…

Have a great day.
