A Flower of Hearts With Love

Hello there!
    Where did January go? Really wish I could be here more often. I began making this card for an inspiration challenge but could not complete it in time. So, I used hearts for ongoing love/Valentine challenges.


 

Supplies used:
Elizabeth craft designs-Triple leaf set
MFT die-namics-Fancy flourish (sections of die cut used)
                           Stitched circle
Fiskars-Peacock elegance (sentiment)
dotted designer paper
sequin
clear dew drop
glossy accents
    A circular window was die cut on DP and adhered on a square card base. To make the flower, a one inch wide strip of red printer paper was folded in half and 5 big and 5 smaller hearts were fussy cut using handmade templates. To make a petal, one big and one small heart were glued along their mountain folds. The five petals made in this manner were adhered on a double sided foam circle, added a sequin and clear dew drop for the flower center, then added some colour to the petals. The leaves were die cut and veins were marked on them using the shaft of a piercing tool for dimension. The sentiment was stamped and card was completed with the dimensional flower, leaf springs, flourishes and glossy accents.

    This is my third card for my SIL, a victim of terminal ovarian cancer in Canada. Around Christmas, a FB group-Kit & Clowder, had a post asking if anyone needed uplifting cards. I mentioned about my SIL and some kind readers sent her beautiful handmade cards which she was thrilled to receive. If any of you would like to send her an uplifting card, please let me know in the comment so I can send you her mailing address. Papertrey January Blog Hop Challenge

Hello!
    Thanks for peeking here. I hope you like my make for the PTI challenge. The inspiration pic this month was irresistible so I made this card. 


Supplies used:
Papertrey Ink-Cover plate-Delightful die
                       Shaped sayings-Birthday die
MFT die-namics-Mini rolled roses
                           Fancy flourish 
Martha Sewart-Flower power-border punch (white flowers)
Elizabeth Craft Designs-Triple lef set
chalkboard marker
    A black panel was die cut with the cover plate. Then using it as a guide, another black panel was drawn and fussy cut. The frame of the first was then adhered on the fussy cut one and then colored with chalkboard marker for an intense black colour. The shaped saying was die cut, the circular flourishes around it were trimmed off then adhered in place. The panel was adhered on kraft card stock and completed with a dimensional floral arrangement of die cuts and punch outs.

String Art on a Die-cut

Hello!!
    Happy New Year to you all. Hope you had a wonderful holiday season. I had a busy time doing all sorts that although I had projects done and pictured I just had no time to blog. Hope to get on track soon and be more active here once again. 
    Sharing a card I made last month for a couple who celebrated their silver jubilee. The current PTI-MIM challenge is...A La Carte, requiring to feature one of the 34 MIM techniques. As this card was apt for Amy Sheffer's string art using die-cuts, I decided to join the challenge. So here goes my first post for 2017 and apologies for the poor picture quality.


  
Supplies used:
Papertrey Ink-Heart Stitches die
                       Wonderful words die
MFT-Number symbols die-namics
silver thread
silver acrylic paint
silver card paper (recycled chocolate box)
    The heart shape was die-cut and sewed around using the buttonhole stitch. Next, another heart shape was die-cut onto a card panel. Using silver paint, the edges of the white card base and the portion that would be seen through the heart on the panel, were painted in silver. The panel and the stitched heart were lightly covered with paint splatters. In an attempt to paint the outer edge (showing the core) of the panel, an accidental streak of paint, led to additional streaks all over (except the hearts), to appear like silk threads used in handmade paper. Finally, the card was put together by adhering in this order…the die cut 25 on the heart, the stitched heart overlapping the one on the panel, the panel itself and then the sentiment die.

Christmas Tag #10

Hi!
    Meant to share this tag a few days ago, but somehow life intervened. I went out of my comfort zone to make this Christmas tag because of the extra blue colours inspired by the challenge at Verve and am quite satisfied with the outcome. I hope you like it too.



Supplies used:
watercolor paper
blue Distress ink
dark blue cardstock
die cut trees (RAK- Thanks Nikki)
star sequins. 
SRM sticker sentiment
    Distress ink was blended on the paper and water was spritzed on it. Added four layers of dark torn edged paper to resemble a hilly plateau in the shadows and adhered the tree die cut. As the tree shape was uneven, the next die cut was turned over to resemble the shape of an evergreen. After turning its branches upwards, it was adhered along its center to the first die cut. Similarly, the third die which appears to have been cut from some designed paper was adhered atop the second and finished off with star sequins.

Christmas Tag #9

Hi!
    Glad I'm able to post again today. Started on this tag last week and after a long break, I put it together yesterday. Most time was spent making the microminiature wreath which I could have done without, but I enjoy adding details. I hope you like what you see here today.

Brilliance-pearlescent sky blue (sentiment)
double sided foam tape
Bistro white chalk marker (snow)
    The inspiration for this tag is from Kittie's day seven tag below. First all the die cut embellishments were given their finishing touch as follows...
Trees- White cardstock was used for diecutting. Next, the triangles from the diecut were cut into little trees, then coloured with green leaving parts uncoloured to depict snow.
House- The house die sent as RAK was coloured peach to red. White paper was glued on the reverse across the door and window openings, then coloured. Some white paper was cut and adhered atop the roof and chimney as snow.
Wreath- A hole punch was used on a bit of green cardstock, then cut around it to form a ring. The bow was made with two teeny winnie red triangles and two elongated triangles and the bits were put together on the ring. Stickles and glossy accents were used for its finishing touch.
The sky was blended with chalk pastels and the scene was completed the die cuts and four layers of snow banks made with torn paper. The house, two trees in front and snow bank with stamped sentiment were adhered with dimensional tape. Finally, falling snow was added by gently tapping the chalk marker with a finger.
