Awareness Ribbon card

Hello friends!
    Hope you are well wherever you are. The weather has been very unstable here, I just recovered from the flu and am here to share a card I made for a victim of ovarian cancer. Every cancer is represented with a specific colour. See HERE. As I did not own a teal ink pad, I made this card in lavender which represents all cancers.

Supplies used:
Card stock
A Creative Journey-Awareness ribbon set #2
Tsukineko brilliance-pearlescent lavender
foam tape
    I stamped the desired words on a piece of white card stock, next stamped the large heart image from the set on the reverse and cut it. Using the cut out heart as a guide, i drew a larger heart on purple card stock, cut it, glued the white heart over it and adhered it to the card with foam tape. The tiny awareness ribbon on the heart was part of another heart stamp from the set which I stamped on purple card stock, fussy cut and added there.

Watercolouring

Hi there!
    I'm back today with a water coloured card. I last did water colouring while in school...over three decades ago! Never really enjoyed it as I always ended up smudging my work. I was aware it has been a new trend in card making for a while, but I was very reluctant to even try with fear of repeating the same mistake. After seeing THIS post by Ink Stains Roni, I was inspired to give it a try and while painting on Sunday, I could not believe it was actually me painting!!

Lefranc & Bourgeois pan watercolours

SRM sticker sentiment

The painting was done on a 3.5"x 4.5" piece of watercolor paper which was later die cut. I followed the same techniques as Roni, except that I did it in one colour...first diluted, then direct from the pan set. To make the butterfly, I folded a 2"x2" pece of watercolor paper in half, drew the butterfly shape on one half, opened the fold, painted it black and let it dry. Next, I added thick blobs of paint on one side of the folded paper, folded it over the other half and pressed it together to obtain a symmetrical design. After it dried, I cut the folded half butterfly to add it to my card. This is what it looked like before I cut the butterfly...

    I hope you like my card today. I'm hooked on watercoloring roses now and have already begun another piece. So be prepared to see more cards with watercoloured roses soon. As for the technique I used for the butterfly, it was one of the things I did as a school kid with watercolour tubes to make symmetrical abstract designs, just for fun.

Love is in the air

Hello!
    I'm back again with yet another love card. Couldn't resist using the adorable Christmas birds stamps to make this card.

Chalk pastels for clouds

Lawn Fawn Season’s tweetings stamp & die set

Unity Stamp the hearts

Copic floral favorites sketch markers for birds

Crayola fine tip markers for leaves, beaks & heart

Ice stickles for hearts

Puffy paint & heat gun for branch

Glossy accents for leaves  

SRM sentiment

    I cut out the heart and cloud template, then after masking the portion with the heart, I coloured the clouds with chalk pastels. I know the clouds are way too many, that's because I was enjoying myself and got carried away. Also added a very thin layer of red around the heart which is barely visible in the picture.

Love is...Sweet

Hi there!
    I'm back with my second post in a short while. Frankly, I had no patience to ink some of the Unity stamps I won and got my crafting mojo to make my second Valentine card. Really enjoyed adding dimension to this sweet image and I hope you like it too.
