Bauhaus Blocks- Card Set

Dear friends,

I have a set of cards today. My initial plan was to use the entire panel on the card. But a boo-boo led me to cut up the panel and make these three cards.

Falling Leaves

Hello friends,

I can't get enough of the autumn leaves, and I'm here with yet another card with falling leaves.

Products used:

woodgrain embossing folder (company unknown), #rangerdistress inks (for the background & leaves), #lawnfawn (stitched leaves), gold acrylic paint (for spatters), #fiskars (sentiment stamp), & #vervestamps (sequins)

For the background, the debossed side of the embossing folder was inked, then run through the Big Shot. This was followed by rubbing the ink pad over the embossed area. To the half of the panel, a strip of gold cardstock was glued to one edge, the other edge was given a torn effect, and then adhered to the card base. For the leaves, a panel of watercolour paper was directly inked with various autumn colours, arranged closely together. It was then generously sprayed with water until the ink started to move and blend with the other colors. Once dry, multiple leaves were cut from the panel. I used only one type of leaf here and arranged them in a falling manner after gently folding them along the centre vein for added dimension. Finally, the whole card was spattered with gold paint, the sentiment was stamped, cut into a banner shape, adhered with foam and finished off with sequins.

Peace Dove

Hello friends,

Sharing a card I made for the IG Hop, 'An Encouraging Word'. I procrastinated a lot, but after coming across Lydia's card in the 'CASE Me a Christmas Card' hop hosted by Michelle Lupton, I got my mojo back. The main element from Lydia's card that inspired me was the bold blue. A color I never used for ink blending before.  

Products used:

Die cut dove (company unknown), #rangerdistress & #catherinepooler inks (for background),  #gansaitambi pearl watercolors (for spatters & dove), #stamplorations (star die), holographic paper, #tsukinekoink (for glow behind star), #averyelle (sentiment) & #wow embossing powder 

A panel of watercolor paper was inkblended with Broken China ink within a circle, masked then inked with Prize Ribbon. This was followed by spritzing water to lift the ink. As there was a stark color contrast, the circular area was painted with Prize Ribbon and spritzed with water again. The edges were ink blended with Juniper Mist (CP Ink). Next, the panel was generously spattered with silver pearl watercolor to depict a starry sky. The sentiment was heat embossed. A solid oval stamp was used to depict the glow around the star, softened around the edges and the holographic die cut star was adhered in place. The die cut bird sent as RAK was with one wing, so I adhered the wing from another die cut to it. The embossing tool was used to give dimension to the wings and tail. The olive branch was drawn, fussy cut, ink blended and finished off by adhering the dove with the olive branch in the circular area.

Christmas- CASE

Hello friends,

Sharing my first card for the 'CASE Me a Christmas Card' event hosted by Michelle Lupton by CASEing my favourite person, Ardyth Percy Robb. The elements from her card include similar background colors, a background with circles, an element on every closed circle and one third of the card base with white space.

A panel of watercolor paper was directly inked, generously spritzed with water, allowing the colors to blend. The die cut panel was adhered to it, leaving every other circle in place to adhere silver die cut snowflakes to it. Finished off with a stamped sentiment and die cut bling.

The Maple Trilogy

Happy World Cardmaking Day! I'm back to share another card I made for the awesome Autumn Challenge at Lawn Fawn with some maple leaves.

woodgrain embossing folder (company unknown), #rangerdistress inks (for the background & leaves), #lawnfawn (stitched leaves), #ldrs (label die), gold acrylic paint (for spatters & leaf edges), #fiskars (sentiment stamp), #rangers embossing powder & archival ink (for sentiment) & #vervestamps (sequins)

I used only maple leaves here, which I spattered with gold paint and randomly around the leaf edges. The leaves were gently folded along the centre vein for dimension. The sentiment was heat embossed on a die-cut vellum label, but as my embossing powder seemed tarnished, I used archival ink to stamp over it. The leaves & sentiment label were adhered and finished off with sequins.
