Recycled Artistry for Christmas

Hello Friends,

I enjoy recycling and collecting a wide range of materials to craft with. I needed to make a card for the Recycled Artistry hop on IG. So I pulled out some flavoured coffee mix boxes I had in my stash of trash and was inspired to make the first Christmas card for this year in non-traditional colors using three of the four boxes in the pic below. Capturing good pics was difficult as the boxes are foiled.

#KCC19 - Sketch 1

Dear Friends,

Although I've been following Kendra on IG for a while and have seen her card challenges, I never really took much interest since it mostly involved patterned paper and sketches, which aren’t my thing. However, this time I decided to give it a try to use up my stash of pattern paper. I must admit I’m hooked! And, there will be lots of cards made with patterned paper now on. Here's the very first one. #KCC19-Sketch1

Fun with Mixed Media

Hi friends, 

Papertrey Ink is hosting a summer challenge, and the requirement is to use PTI products featuring three techniques: ink blending, die-cut layering, and stenciling. This challenge gave me the perfect chance to dive into mixed media, and surely I had a blast. I wish the camera was able to capture the beautiful #nuvo shimmer.

#papertreyink stamps (Doodlie-Do- leaves, flowers & Woodblock Prints- dots)

#papertreyink die (Coverplate Circles- die cut was used as a stencil & Just for You)

#nuvo shimmer powder(Falling Leaves & Atlantis Burst)

watercolor paper & gems

I started by inking the watercolor paper randomly with two inks. After spritzing some water and adding shimmer powders, there was a magical transformation. (See pics below) This was followed by stamping leaves and dots, then stencilling large half circles & diamond shapes using a die cut. After stamping some flowers in white, the entire panel was generously splattered with white paint. Finished off with a layered die-cut sentiment for dimension and lots of gems.
