Punched Christmas Trees

Hi ! 
This is my first X'mas card. Wanted to wait until Advent, but on second thought, I  decided to begin  before I get too busy.

 I'm not too pleased with my photography or should I blame the holographic paper ?

So, here's another picture from an angle. 

Still not clear ? Sorry, I tried my best. 

I'm certainly happy with my little X'mas trees and reindeer's especially Rudolph. He has a shiny nose and if you could clearly see it, you would surely say it glows 

First, I drew one tree on a bit of green card stock and cut it out, then used it as a template to draw and cut out the rest. Each tree was made using three cut outs. Next the tip of each branch was adorned with berries (red glitter), then glued to one another at the center fold. The star was cut from gold foil paper, using a holographic star sticker as a template. The last bit of this ribbon was from my stash. As I felt the holographic paper was too glittery I tried to lessen it to some extent with a few silver punched snowflakes and added the punched reindeer's entering the galaxy. Santa is way behind !! The sentiment was handwritten.

Quilled Flower

First of all, I'd like to thank all who visited and left a comment here. Your comments are indeed encouraging and make me craft more.

The background of this card is, handmade embroidered paper from India. I embellished it with a quilled floral design ( my third attempt at quilling ) and ribbon with a wavy bow.

Mum, I made Roses!!

My mum teaches flower making and has taught scores of ladies over the past six decades. Recently, one of my sisters has learnt from her and helps her teach as she cannot manage much at 82. In the past, mum was always saddened by the fact that none of her four daughters bothered to learn from her. Fact is, mum was there to make them and we were interested in other crafts. Hence, the post title is addressed to her. 

This is my first attempt at an easel card and roses. No templates were used to cut the card shape. Instead, I drew the scallops around a circle and cut it out. Rose colours convey different messages. Deep Pink (the best I could find) simply means "Thank You".  Hence I chose this colour. The card is especially made to show our gratitude to someone. The spiral roses were made a few weeks ago. But, I delayed the project as I could not find a proper green paper for leaves. So, I painted the leaves in the end. The rose leaves are made as my mum does, with a serrated edge using scissors. Craft Punches were used for the ferns and daisies. As the first image was not very clear, I added another to proudly show off my roses. :D

Handmade Embellishment

Hi! 
I'm here again. The blog now beckons me to create even if there's no upcoming family occasion. So, here’s what I made yesterday while my kids were at school.

The papers used here are: a part of a gift wrap paper to make the accordion fold medallion and a strip of handmade block printed paper.  The flowers used to complete the embellishment are punch cut outs topped with a gold sequin to coordinate with the colours on the handmade paper. I also folded the gold paper below the strip in a similar manner and slightly stretched it. As shown below.

95th Masculine Birthday

Hi there!

    I’m back. Been busy with my kids and attending functions and so soon a fortnight has flown by.

    I just finished making a card for my dad who will be “95” on 18th. We thank the Lord for he’s still mobile, although only within the house; and we hope he continues to be so until the end.

For the background of this card, I used striped paper. The spike edged circles and the 95 were cut out from cardstock, using my favorite tool “scissors”. While the sentiments, including the one on the ribbon were printed.   

For the first time ever I decided to join a challenge.
