I’ve finally stamped!

Hello!
Today I’m very excited as I finally made a stamped card. Yes, I stamped for the first time. That’s because I received the first stamp set I won in a giveaway at Ladybug Crafts. Thanks Samantha I think stamping is fun and I love the way this card turned out.

The image is from Humphreys Corner collection by Crafters Companion. I stamped it without any block as I don’t have one yet and I was impatient to try it out.  My daughter coloured Humphrietta (as she named her) for me using Faber Castell colour pencils and outlined it with a black pointer, and I punched around the oval shape. To keep to Nina Brackett’s current sketch at Card Patterns, I used the polka dotted paper from India, part of a doily, diagonally striped ribbon and added the sentiment. It was stamped using the same stamp set, outlined it with a red pointer (my DD did that too) and I added a gift shape confetti. The sentiment looked much better below the image, but as I’d already twisted the sketch I was unsure if I could change the placement of the sentiment. Please do let me know in your comments if I could have done it or not. I’m new at sketch challenges.

Love Link Up Party with K Andrew

Hi!
I hope all my bloggie friends are doing fine. I have been taking it easy for the past few days here as it's extremely hot here to do anything other than have chilled drinks, ice-cream and yummy, juicy mangoes!!
The third Tuesday of the month has finally arrived when Kristal at Getting Cricky with K. Andrews has a love link up party. This is a way to get to know each other and find new blogs for inspiration. I love Kristal’s blog. She not only inspires me with her works of art but much more with words from her heart and above all she is a wonderful friend. Besides the monthly link up party, she also has Sunday challenges, giveaways practically on every post, a forum, etc., etc.  To join the fun just visit her blog, be a follower and post her blinkie.
This time those joining the link up party have been asked to share a favorite project and mention one thing they are grateful for. (Visit HERE for more details about the link up party.) I am grateful to my creator for blessing me with this crafting talent and his gifts in nature with which I can craft with inspite of the fact that crafting materials are not at all available here.  So, here are my favorite recycled/eco-friendly projects…

Materials used: Recycled card stock & cardboard, sand, shells, coconut fruit stems & tree husk.

I'm blogging again!

Hi!
I have no clue what's got into me but, I'm blogging again! I myself am surprised I'm here for the fourth time in a week. Yesterday I was going through all I had stored in my USB and found a few cards I hadn’t posted yet! Being a last minute crafter, this is what happens... I hurriedly make a card, take a picture and forget to post it. This sympathy card is one of those I had to complete in a big hurry. My husband returned home asking if I had a sympathy card and although I always have these handy, I wanted to make it special, considering whom it was for and this is a card I’d made in Feb.
I made these quilled folded roses in two shades of peach and quilled some daisies which I lightly dabbed with Tim Holtz –Mustard Seed distress ink at the tips of its fringed petals The rose leaves were folded to reveal the veins and added some punched ferns and a few scrolls as well. The background panel used for the floral layout is animal print handmade paper from India. The sentiment was printed, cut out into an oval shape and overlapped on another in white for contrast and added some bling. The picture is not good as usual, but I hope you like it all the same.

I’m here again!!!

Hi!
It’s the first time I’ve returned here on the very next day. Am I improving? Actually, in my haste to get my card posted yesterday while my PC was still functioning, I forgot to add the second card which was to be linked in the same post. So, here I'm today with a card for a baby boy.
It’s very much similar to the first girl card, except that I drew and manually cut out pennants and used a ribbon as a trim for one edge of the embossed panel sent by my bloggie friend. Other supplies used include Alphadotz for B O Y and a rub on sentiment.

Thanks to all who visited & left comments on my recent posts. I will return your visits hopefully soon and whenever my PC is functioning well. Have a wonderful weekend!

I'm back pretty soon..

Hi!
As promised, I'm her today with a card I made while I was away from blogland. I doubt I would have been here so soon if my dear friend K.Andrew hadn't come up with her Simply Sunday Challenge which was fitting for my card.
The embossed panel here, was just one of the 15 different ones sent to me by a bloggie friend who didn't want to be mentioned, after seeing THIS card I made using improvised tools (paper clip & pen). Thank You very much dear. God Bless You! I used only a half of the panel so I could save it for some other card. The banner was drawn and manually cut, used alphadots for the word girl and joined the four with silver thread. The thread was looped at both ends and hung on pins with pearly white heads. Strips of craft paper from India, were used as a trim for the embossed panel. The sentiment is a rub-on sticker and finally, I added some faux stitching around.

Although I hope to be back here soon, I'm unsure if I will be able to, as my PC has started misbehaving since this morning.
