Hi Friends,

Psalm 61: 1-3

Hello Friends,

I made this card for 'An Encouraging Word Hop,' and the sentiment was inspired by Psalm 61:1-3

Products used:
designer vellum cards (background) & a computer-generated sentiment

The sentiment was printed after ink blending and ink lifting a section of pale green paper. The circular portion of the designer paper was cut, and the opening in the panel was adhered to the sentiment, which was then adhered to the card base.

Challenges entered:
#colorfuloptions - anything goes
#wordartwednesday - anything goes
#doubleD - inspired by the worship song 'Lead me to The Rock'
#tripleB - blooms
#parkhopping - EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival
#paperfunday - anything goes

Just Because

Hello friends,

I recently posted this card, and the leftover pieces were used for the flower petals of this card, just because I didn't want to waste the pretty papers.

Supplies used:
#laviniastamps (stencil background), #catherinepooler ink (spruce & rose petals), #alinacutle (for petals & stem), #lawnfawn (leaves), uniko (sentiment) & a gem.

Eight petals were die-cut from the leftover pieces of paper to make this flower. As the flower would be lonely, I stencilled the leafy background for company and did some ink-lifting. The card base was inked around the edges, and the background adhered to it. The petals were curled at one end, the other end was adhered in the centre, and over-under layering was done (one side of the petal was tucked under and the other over). Finished the card with the die-cut stem, leaves and stamped sentiment.

Challenges entered:

#colorfuloptions - anything goes
#diecutdivas - anything goes
#parkhopping - EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival
#paperfunday - anything goes
#beautifulblossoms - flower in focus
#stencilfun - stencils & nature
#tripleB - bloom

Paper Funday GD: Changing Seasons

Hello friends,

I'm excited to have the opportunity to be the Guest Designer at The Paper Funday Challenges. The August'25 #80 challenge is Anything Goes with the Optional Twist of Changing Seasons.
I made this card with die-cut fall leaves, which I had fun watercoloring. The gold shimmer on the card was difficult to capture in all the images.

Products used:
woodgrain embossing folder (company unknown), #lawnfawn (stitched leaves), #vervestamps (die for green fronds), #ldrs (label die), #fiskars (sentiment stamp), #rangerdistress inks (for the background), pan watercolors & watercolor pencils (for leaves), gold acrylic paint (for splatters) & sequins

For the background, the debossing side of the embossing folder was inked, then run through the Big Shot. This was followed by rubbing the ink pad over the embossed area and adhering it to the card base after inking its edges. The leaves were individually painted with watercolors, then colored with watercolor pencils for vibrancy, then arranged along a diagonal and splattered with gold paint. The stamped and die-cut label was lightly inked around the edges, then adhered with double-sided foam tape and finished off with sequins.

Challenges entered:
#wordartwednesday - anything goes
#colorfuloptions - anything goes
#diecutdivas - anything goes
#parkhopping - harvest festival at Dollywood
#doubleD - inspired by the song 'Autumn Leaves' by Nat King Cole
#fourseasons - fall

Geometric Shapes

Hello friends,

Today I'm part of the IG hop, 'Rediscover your supplies' where the aim is to find hidden supplies and the theme is 'Geometric Shapes'. Well, when I was going through my stash of papers, I found these papers, which were part of a ready card-making kit from Dollarama, given to me almost 18 - 20 years ago. They were slightly larger square pieces, which I die-cut to make this card with geometric shapes.

Supplies used:
#alinacutle die (squares), #mft die (circle) & cardmaking sticker book sentiment + tiny image

The additional image was added below the sentiment to cover a scratch/boo-boo created because I mistook it for a rub-on.

Challenges entered:
#ssswednesday - anything goes
#wordartwednesday - anything goes
#prettypapers - pretty papers

Have a great weekend..

Twofer Card

Hello friends,

A week ago, I posted this card made using soap bubbles and watercolor. Here's the second from the same panel using the bubble art sentiment.

Products used:
#heroarts sentiment die, watercolors, gold acrylic paint, & gold cardstock.

The background panel was smooshed using a large, scrunched & rolled up piece of cling wrap, first with watercolour, then with gold acrylic paint. The bubble art sentiment was offset on a gold die cut to create a sparkly shadow and finished off with a crimson outline around the panel.

Challenges entered:
#staycrafty - watercolor background
#sunbirdsparkreate - make it shine
#ssswednesday - anything goes
#wordartwednesday - anything goes

Have a great day.

Matthew 6: 31-36

Hello Friends,

This card, made for 'An Encouraging Word Hop,' was inspired by Matthew 6:31-36. A call to faith over worry and fear, just like the carefree butterflies.

Products used:
designer vellum cards (background), vellum confetti (flowers & leaves), uppercase rub-ons (sentiment), glitter & #pink&main glossy dots.

The designer paper was adhered to an A2 card base & rub-ons were used for the sentiment. The vellum flowers & leaves were gently curled and adhered to the top, as the design wasn't appealing. The outline and prominent patterns on the butterfly wings were touched with glitter glue to balance the shine of the glossy dots.

Challenges entered:
#sunbirdsparkreate - make it shine
#colorfuloptions - colors of the month
#wordartwednesday - anything goes
#doubleD - butterflies
#tripleB - butterflies & blooms
#wordpower - sentiment in focus
#nbus - designer paper

Have a great day.

Watercolor w/ Soap Bubbles

Hello Friends,

The Stay Crafty challenge for August is watercolor. Once again, I created this shimmery and colourful panel using soap bubble art. With great difficulty, I managed to capture the shimmer in the last picture with different lighting.

Products used:
#heroarts sentiment die, watercolors, gold acrylic paint & tiny punched circles for bling.

The bubbles were made by blowing into the soap solution with a straw, gently transferring them onto watercolour paper, then touching the bubbles with colour. This time, it was done in layers, so the colors overlapped & the final layer was bubbles with gold acrylic paint, which, besides giving the shine, worked as a fixative.

Challenges entered:
#staycrafty - watercolor background
#sunbirdsparkreate - make it shine
#colorfuloptions - vibrant colors
#paperfunday - anything goes
#wordartwednesday - anything goes

Have a great day.

The Mandala

Hello Friends,

I finally inked the Mandala Maker stamps!! I've had this set since 2019, but due to the five year long hiatus, I still have some unused products. Frankly, I didn't quite enjoy using this set. Using the tiny stamps and getting the placement right was quite challenging, time consuming and messy. But I will surely attempt using it again.

Products used:
#ginak (stamp set- used 12 tiny stamps) #catherinepoolerinks (used 6 inks) & #uniko (sentiment stamp)

Challenges entered:
#colorfuloptions - Hawaiian skies
#wordartwednesday - anything goes
#paperfunday - anything goes
#nbus - stamp set

Have a lovely day.

Season's Tweetings!

Hello Friends,

Today I was in the mood to ink blend a scene in the background of these two sparrows. I came up with the idea of Christmas in summer so I can send it to my family in New Zealand.

Products used:
#lawnfawn (Winter Sparrows- stamp & dies), #firecrackerdesigns retd. (seagulls, clouds & grass stamps), #rangerdistress inks, #nuvo creative pen (for birds), #catherinepoolerinks (for stamping) & glitter.

DIY stencils were used to mask and ink-blend the sections. The grass & clouds were stamped. The branch & leaves were die cut from color cardstock & shaping tools were used to give dimension to both. The sparrows were stamped, colored, die-cut & fussy cut to get rid of the white edges. Glitter mixed with liquid glue was painted over the accessories. The branch & leaves were glued white dimnsional foam was used for the sparrows. To add a coarse texture to the land, stippling was done with ink & a stencil brush. Finished off with stamped sesgulls & a sentiment.

Challenges entered:
#timeout - photo inspiration (sky, clouds, blue, brown)
#asyoulikeit - favourite season (Christmas because it's a joy-filled season that commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ, the core of my faith)
#parkhopping - inspired by 'The Enchanted Tiki Room'
#colorfuloptions - Hawaii skies
#wordartwednesday - anything goes

Have a lovely day.

Pattern Play

Hello Friends,

Pinkfresh Studio's challenge for August is Pattern Play. I love creating with repeat patterns and geometrics. Inspired by the turnabout range of products, which I don't own yet, I wanted to try and make my own. So I used a stamp to make a stencil for this card. Pinkfresh products used are in the pic, and more details are in the description below.

Products used:
For card:
#pinkfreshstudio...stamps- Wrap It Up (banner stamp to make a stencil), Folk Mandala (floral pattern and sentiment die), vinyl clear transparent magic cover, #rangerdistressinks & gems

For tag:
They are the same as the card, except the sentiment is from the Wrap It Up set and the bling is die-cut circles.

The banner was stamped on a piece of clear vinyl (see pic below), cut and used as a stencil to repeat the pattern. This was followed by stamping the floral pattern, the die-cut sentiment and gems.
The tag was made using the first panel, which got messed up while stamping.

Challenges entered:
#pinkfreshstudio - pattern play & color
#wordartwednesday - anything goes
#ssswednesday - not a card
#paperfunday - anything goes
#colorfuloptions - Hawaii Day colors
#stencilfun - DIY stencil
#wordpower - sentiment in focus

Have a great weekend.

Today, I'm sharing a set of four thank-you cards I made for an IG hop, 'Build your Stash'. This is the first time I've made a set of cards, as I do not like making multiples of the same kind. After much thought, I remembered I had a brand new stamping foam waiting to be used, and yes, making a set with it was fun.

Products used:
#ldrs (Mod Circles stamp) #rangerdistressoxideinks (squeezed lemonade, candied apple & blueprint sketch), #sct (sentiment) & gems
