Paper Serviette and Vellum

Hi!
Last Sunday, our family was invited to lunch by some nuns. Besides the lovely table set up and scrumptious spread, I was most attracted to the pretty paper serviettes and brought one unused and made this thank you card for them.

The serviette...
Supplies Used:
paper serviette
vellum
Studio18 - Vellum confetti
CASual Friday - Pretty Posies sentiment
Prismacolor pencils
self adhesive pearls
PVA glue
parchment paper
iron
After peeling off two layers of paper from the serviette, glue was applied on a card panel, the required portion of serviette was cut and gently placed on the panel with glue. The panel was placed between two sheets of parchment paper and ironed at a moderate setting. The process was repeated for the two butterflies but they were glued on vellum instead of card. The panel was trimmed and layered on a red card. To add more interest to the card, the die cut vellum flowers and leaves were shaped for dimension with a flower shaping tool, arranged on the card and finished off with pearl flower centers. The butterflies were fussy cut without the feelers, coloured in similar colous to appear vibrant, creased for valley folds on either side of their body and adhered on the butterflies on the card for dimension and finised off with a sentiment and tiny pearls.

Dimensional Hearts

Hi!
I'm back with my second love card and hope to make a couple more in the days to come. This card is made with die cuts remaining from the card posted earlier.

Supplies Used:
IO - My Funky Valentine CL161
Copic markers
Lawn Fawn - Heart stackables
SRM sticker sentiment
glitter foam
foam tape
The heart image was stamped, coloured, die cut and the edges coloured. After masking part of the card, the heart image was stamped twice and the blank spaces were filled in with the smaller stamps from the set. The outermost die cut heart was glued directly on the card, the next with foam tape and the innermost cut from glitter foam was also adhered with foam tape for dimension. The outline of the outermost heart was drawn with a red pointer and finished off with a sticker sentiment.

Hi there!
Happy February to you all. I'm here to share my first love card for the year using products which I've had for a long time, but had never used them before. The numerous love posts inspired me to make use of them as these cards will come of use at some point in time.
Supplies Used:
IO - My Funky Valentine CL161
       Love die DIE271-D
Copic markers
Lawn Fawn - Heart stackables

The heart image was stamped, coloured, die cut and the edges coloured. The love die was cut on glitter foam and the tiny hearts are die cuts of the heart in place of 'O'.

Recycled Mixed Media Photo Frame

Hello Friends!
A Happy New Year 2019 which I hope will be a peaceful, healthy and creative one for us all. I'm back sooner than I thought I would be, with a photoframe I decorated for my sister-in laws picture to mark her first death anniversary using her jewelry. She loved wearing brooches. I just used the floral brooches from her collection and kept to a colour scheme of gold, white and red...her favorite colour.

Here are more pics of the frame in sections...

Suplies used:
a silver photo frame
8 brooches
iridescent rhinstones from another brooch
white beads from a necklace
red rhinestones from another brooch
activated charcoal granules from our home water filter
gold spray paint
ice stickles
PVA archival glue
glue gun
This is the original look of the frame and brooches. Some were tarnished, two coloured and some with rhinestones missing or coloured rhinestones.

The activated charcoal granules were spray painted by tossing them in a foil tray so parts of it stayed black for contrast. It was air dried for a day.

After breaking off the pins off the brooches, the rhinestones were removed, spray painted, dried and given a new look with iridescent rhinestones from other brooches. The brooches were placed on the original frame and points were marked where the brooch was to be directly glued on the frame.

A desicion making, while work in progress pic...
The charcoal granules were glued on the frame in sections using a paintbrush. A second layer was added on the first in a similar manner. Next the brooches were glued with a heat gun and finished off with white necklace beads, red rhinestones from another brooch and ice stickles to cover the white bead holes .
