Here's a variation of three cards made from one water coloured rainbow panel, gold card and Papertrey Ink's thick and thin thanks die.

The background was water coloured at random and splattered with gold paint. The sentiment was die cut and inlaid with the thick gold word then the thin rainbow word and finished with sequins.

Card 2
The thick rainbow word die cut sentiment was used in this card with the thin inlaid gold after smooshing the background with gold paint and finished with sequins.

Card 3
The panel was cut to size and the waste strips were used in this card with the thick gold and thin white die cut word and finished with sequins.

Here's my desk space with products for more cards to be made.

Recycled and NBUS

Hello there!
I’m back with a card inspired by autumn and the related card challenges… one of which was to use cardboard. I did not want to use the cardboard as it is, but wanted to give it a different look. So I used some NBUS from the house and did what I NBD (Never Before Did) to achieve this. Certainly, got strange looks from my 18 yr old son wondering if I’d gone nuts, while I was having fun.

Supplies used:
Lawn Fawn -Stitched leaves
Taylored Expressions - thanks block die
Viva Decor-Inca gold wax paste
corrugated cardboard (recycled)
burgundy shoe cream
black shoe polish
fixation spray
tinsel ribbon
gold card (recycled box)
The original piece of cardboard was the same colour as the card base. The colour was darkened with the application of shoe cream with a brush, then lightly applied some shoe polish with a sponge horizontally so as to avoid letting the black go over the valley folds of the cardboard. As the odour wasn’t appealing, the fixation spray was used. Two coats of it, sealed the odour and made it shine. Next the cardboard was torn all around and the edges then lightly burnt over an open flame to darken the edges. Done by smothering the flame immediately with a cloth. To give it a metaliic glow, metallic gold wax paste was rubbed on the mountain folds. The panel was adhered on the card base. The die cut leaves were watercoloured, sprayed with fixation spray to make the colour look richer and for the shine, then scored along the dotted lines for dimension. Finished off by randomly gluing the tinsel ribbon and leaves with a glue gun, then adhered the die cut sentiment.

Did you like my card? Do you think I made it too busy with the tinsel ribbon? I guess I’ve been seeing way too many gorgeous mix media projects on Instagram that inspired me to use it and go for a different look than the usual CAS.
Have a wonderful day.

A Clean & Simple Card for MFT

Hello!
I’m taking a leap and playing along with the MFT superstar challenge in the CAS category. After selecting the MFT product to use, I decided to go with the black and white colour scheme for a thank you card in reply to messages of sympathy. Besides, these cards have to be mass produced and I thought this design will be quick and easy to re-create.

Supplies used:
MFT die-namics -Formal flourish
MFT stamp -Thanks so very much
Xyron creative station lite with adhesive
Sequins
A piece of black cardstock was run through the Xyron machine for adhesive, then through the Big Shot. The die cut was adhered, the sentiment stamped, then added a part of another die cut for continuity and finished off with sequins. The use of the Xyron machine made the process extremely quick and easy.

Pretty Posies with no line colouring

Hello!
I hope you are safe wherever you are. Been praying for the safety and well being of the people of Florida.
Today I'm here to share a card coloured all by myself as a beginner. I always felt I couldn't colour and depended on my daughter to do it for me. But, as she's miles across the oceans I had to start. The Daily Marker 30day and the no line challenge at Mod Squad were the boosters to get me started and make this card.

Supplies used:
CAS-ual Fridays-Pretty Posies stamp
PTI-sweet blush ink (flowers)
Prismacolor colour pencils (flowers)
Versamagic-key lime ink (leaves)
Chameleon pen (leaves)
die cut frame (received as RAK)
McGill word tag punch
Stampin' Up (sentiment)
sequins
The flowers and leaves were stamped coloured and fussy cut. The card base was covered with a few black splatters of watercolour, followed by masking and inking the edges of the card. Following the MFT sketch below, the die frame was adhered in place, the flowers petals and leaves were gently turned manually then arranged within the frame and finished off with the sentiment on a tag and sequins.

Dimensional Flowers and Butterflies

Hi!
Back with another card I made using some TE products. I enjoy adding dimension to my cards and am happy with the outcome of this one using Stampin' Up papers for all the die cuts. Not sure who this card will go to, but most of the cards I make go to my daughter for her use.

Supplies used:
Stampin' Up papers
Taylored Expressions-Mini bloomers
Taylored Expressions-In flight overlays
Taylored Expressions-Simply stamped-Peonies (sentiment)
My Favorite Things-Cross stitch circle stax
Verve Stamps-Sprightly sprigs
bling
The card panel and circle die were adhered to the card base and the sentiment was stamped. The flowers, leaves and butterflies were die cut from the same papers. The flower petals and center were given dimension using the flower shaping tool, two flower shapes each were glued in the center and finished with bling. The leaves were scored along the central vein with a needle like tool and the butterflies were scored and folded upwards. The arrangement was started with the largest leaf sprigs across to follow the sketch then built upon with flowers and leaf sprigs. Finished off with butterflies which were carefully cut form different pattern papers to make the wings symmetrical and added details with a fine line marker.

Baby Wrapped in Swaddling Cloth

Hi!
This is the second card I made yesterday. I had brand new baby confetti dies from TE and wanted to make use of them. So I made a baby wrapped in swaddling cloth to go with the tiny dies. Quite happy with how it turned out and I hope you like it too.

Supplies used:
Taylored Expressions-Baby confetti dies
The Craft's Meow-Vintage rides (sentiment)
Dollarama (dp)
oval die (received as RAK)
wet wipe (for swaddling cloth)
The desiner papers were adhered to the card base, followed by the oval die cut. The baby's head was drawn on coloured paper with a circle stencil and the details were added with Crayola markers. An oblong shape to form the baby's body was cut from a bit of thin sponge. A dry unused wet wipe was used for the swaddling cloth after coloring, drying and cutting it to a 3" square. Then the baby was swaddled in exactly the same manner as a human baby, but with some extra folds for shape and neatness. A glue gun was used to adhere it to the die shape while double sided circle dots held the head in place. The confetti die cuts were cut from coloured paper. Pins from a chocolate box, duck from yellow card, coloured beak, added an eye and a dash of Nuvo crystal drops for dimension of its wing. Rattle from pink card and heat embossed in white and silver. Finished off with the stamped sentiment and a puffy sticker.

A Puffy Heart with Awareness Ribbon

Hi there!
A happy Monday to you all. My card-making mojo is on again and I have been making cards over the weekend. There is a birthday challenge at Taylored Expressions and I decided to play along using the sketch below. This card is for my friend from college who is on treatment for the rare, Apocrine breast carcinoma. She's going through a rough time and I feel bad that this is all I can do for her from across the miles.

Supplies used:
Papertrey Ink-Limitless layers-heart stitches dies
A Creative Journey-Awareness ribbon set#2
Taylored Expressions-Simply stamped-Peonies (sentiment)
1/8 inch wide satin ribbon
After die cutting the heart on the card panel, the sentiment and the ribbons on the side were stamped. After die cutting the heart shape, it seemed slightly raised. In order to retain the raised effect, a thin sponge was cut into a smaller heart shape glued behind it. To keep with the sketch, ribbon was passed through the holes on either side of the heart and secured with double sided tape behind. After adhering the panel on the card base, a piece of ribbon was coloured with a copic marker to match the card base, folded into a loop and secured with double sided tape.
