You are Eggstra special !!

Hi!
Happy Easter to all my eggstra special bloggie friends. Here’s a commissioned card  I made for a friend who recently got engaged and wanted to send it to her fiancĂ© in Australia. The moment she got the card out of the envelope she loved it so much that she gave me a hug and kept admiring it. Then, I told her to open the inside and I got two more hugs. I was really happy the card came together after a long struggle and that she appreciated it. I hope you’ll like it too. The inspiration for this card was from Amy's blog HERE and this is my version …

After trying shapes like rectangle and inverted heart, I finalized my egg shaped bunny face template. The bottom piece of cardstock was with the ears while the top piece without. A heart shape was cut using a craft knife on the top piece to align with the die cut foam heart on the bottom piece.  After scoring the bottom piece just less than an inch below the top of head, the two pieces were joined at the top. The purpose of scoring the bottom piece was to enable the card to be opened without ruining the top by pulling the bottom piece backwards.  Some DP from my stash was used for the inside of the ears, and dry embossed around it with a large ball stylus for dimension. The left ear was folded down and secured with foam tape.  The tuft of fur was also cut separately and attached with foam tape for dimension. The rest of the facial features were drawn with a pointer and finished off with large googlie eyes.
Here’s the inside of the card…

I showed my friend some stamps I had for the inside. She wanted me to use them all. So I wrote U R my and stamped eggstra special, honey bunny, with lots of love & hugs and kisses. Happy Easter! using Gina K.- Square Pegs stamp set ; and got yet another hug. :)

Have a fabulous day!

Thinking of You!

Hi!
I just made a card for the March sketch challenge at The Craft’s Meow and thought I’d share right away. The designer paper I used for my card was sent to me by Nina, the stamp illustrator at The Craft's Meow and designer of the sketch for this challenge while I won the beautiful Craft’s Meow stamp sets at a blog hop a year ago. Thanks Nina and Lisa for making this creation possible. Indeed I thank my God each time I think of all the generous bloggers due to whom I am able to satisfy my passion for crafting.

Supplies used:

Craft’s Meow – Nature’s Beauty stamp set for image

My 2nd Post for the day!!

Hi!
This anniversary challenge at ODBD has inspired me to create not one but two cards. So, here's my 2nd post and card. Even the sketches at Simon Says Challenge blog were so inviting, that I thought I'd use their 2nd sketch for this card.

Supplies used:
Silver Ribbon is Hallmark Fabric Ribbon ( It was brought from UK 19 yrs ago for my wedding decor)
The pink & blue papers were sent as RAK
The beautiful motif sticker is from Martha Stewart Crafts (The sticker came with all those tiny gems around & a larger one in the centre  which I carefully removed & replaced with wine glasses)
The two wine glasses are recycled confetti ( I picked it from the table at a friends wedding. It was going to waste anyway.)
Sentiment from ODBD-Love One Another stamp set

Here's a close up of the motif ..

Happy 5th Anniversary ODBD

Hi!
Happy St. Patrick's Day! It's just past midnight here, but I'm here to share a card I made to link it up at my favourite blog Our Daily Bread Designs for their 5th Anniversary challenge. I own just the 'Love One Another" stamp set from ODBD and there were several opportunities recently to use this set for their challenges, but I just couldn't make it. When I saw their recent challenge I was determined to make a card. So, I browsed for a sketch and liked the latest sketch at Simon Says Challenge Blog and this is what I came up.

Supplies used:
Background paper is handmade from India
Silver glittery ribbon from my stash
Doily from my stash
Rolled rose made by recycling silver foil wrapping paper
Leaves by recycling the foil seal from the milk tin (The leaves were drawn, cut & veins embossed with a pen)
'25' are stickers on silver wire like stick pins
Sentiment from ODBD-Love One Another stamp set
Here's another pic. showing the background clearly...

and a close up of the flower & leaves...

96th Birthday Cake

Hi Friends!
I'm been greatly stressed lately concerning the well being of my aged parents, and to relieve my stress, I have been visiting blogs, fiddling around my own blog and in the process discovered I had a couple of card images saved in drafts; waiting to be posted. So here's a card I'd made for my dad in Oct' 2011. I hope you like it.

Supplies used:
Brown cardstock base
White cardstock strip twirled on a knitting needle for the cake border
White Sharpie Poster Paint for the side and for the handwritten sentiment
Viva Sapphire Blue Glitter Liner to outline the number candles
Glitter in shades of blue & green used in sections of the numbers
Crayola colour pencils for the flame
Foam tape to adhere the candles
The cake & candles were drawn & cut manually. The cake decorating technique used is called "Cornelli Lace". See how I decorated cakes using this technique HERE. The card opened at the upper edge, just behind the candles.

I'm back finally!

Hi!
Thanks a bunch to all of you for sticking around here in spite of the hiatus which turned out to be longer than anticipated. I had issues with my desktop PC since August, and finally got it back only last month. I did have my DD’s laptop at my disposal, but only for short intervals as she had a lot of online work while applying to universities. Also, with work, health problems and stress, it was just impossible to get here earlier. I have been crafting occasionally though to maintain my sanity, and today I’d like to share a I’d card made for Ribbon Challenge #28 – Saddle Stitch Ribbons at Crafty Ribbons.

Supplies used:
Crafty Ribbons – Candy Saddle Stitch Ribbons
Melissa Frances – White Pearls
SRM Stickers – Thanks
Die cut flowers & leaves
Have a great weekend. I promise to visit you soon.
