My First post for 2012

Hello friends!
It's still January, so Happy New Year and sorry for being MIA for so long. First, windows crashed in December, I had it formatted just after Christmas and a week later the hard drive crashed. How frustrating!!! Using an old slow laptop, I managed to just check my e-mails for the next two weeks or so. It’s over a week now since I had all problems sorted out but I’ve been busy. That’s because I’m doing something I never ever wanted to do in life. Teaching!!! Well, the headmistress (nun) of the Convent school needed a teacher for English language for Grades 7 and 8 and the first person she could think of was me I guess? She called requesting me to teach for 2 months and although I honestly dislike teaching, I had to oblige as she is a good friend of the family. This is my first experience; I’m not enjoying it but am managing fine. The worst part is correcting books! Most of these girls mainly speak in their national language at home. So, their grammatical errors are numerous. Poor me!!! On the brighter side, I’ve made new friends with other teachers and I’m out of the house. I haven’t crafted for a long time now, but I have a couple of cards recently made, but not shared here before.
Today’s card is a Clean and Simple one I’d made for one of my SIL’s, using supplies from a giveaway I won from Lori from My Comfort Cottage a couple of months ago.

A clear stamp was used for the swirly image which I outlined with a green marker. I did not ink the 2 flowers on the stamp; instead I added glittery die cut flowers after shaping each petal with the small ball flower making tool. gems were used for their centers and the glitter dots along the swirls were highlighted using a Viva Décor glitter liner. The sentiment was another clear stamp set I received in the same giveaway. Thanks again Lori. I hope you liked my card. It actually looked far better in person.
I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Reposting my First CAS (stamped) card

Hi!

Here's a quick post for Flashback Friday #19 where the challenge is to repost the first Clean & Simple card. My style of crafting is normally CAS, as I've already posted the very first CAS card that fitted another challenge at Flashback Friday; I decided to repost my first stamped CAS card.

The Golden Poppy image was stamped by me and colored with Crayola color pencils by my son Aaron when he was 10 years old. The sentiment was printed. You can find the first post HERE.
I'll be back soon.
