Paper Serviette and Vellum

Hi!
Last Sunday, our family was invited to lunch by some nuns. Besides the lovely table set up and scrumptious spread, I was most attracted to the pretty paper serviettes and brought one unused and made this thank you card for them.

The serviette...
Supplies Used:
paper serviette
vellum
Studio18 - Vellum confetti
CASual Friday - Pretty Posies sentiment
Prismacolor pencils
self adhesive pearls
PVA glue
parchment paper
iron
After peeling off two layers of paper from the serviette, glue was applied on a card panel, the required portion of serviette was cut and gently placed on the panel with glue. The panel was placed between two sheets of parchment paper and ironed at a moderate setting. The process was repeated for the two butterflies but they were glued on vellum instead of card. The panel was trimmed and layered on a red card. To add more interest to the card, the die cut vellum flowers and leaves were shaped for dimension with a flower shaping tool, arranged on the card and finished off with pearl flower centers. The butterflies were fussy cut without the feelers, coloured in similar colous to appear vibrant, creased for valley folds on either side of their body and adhered on the butterflies on the card for dimension and finised off with a sentiment and tiny pearls.
I'm entering this card for challenges at...

WOW this is really beautiful, and all in using a napkin as your background design. I have saved several napkins to do a card one day, but wasn't sure what it entailed until reading your tutorial...not sure I'll tackle it yet. But WOW, the dimension and shaping of both the flowers and the butterflies are fantastic and anyone receiving this card should feel very special in the time spent on your card...a gorgeous card. Thanks for sharing with us at Double Trouble and hope you come back and try one of the AHSC too along with our "Make It Flowers".

hi Leanne, thank you for popping in to my blog and leaving kind words .I have been browsing your tag posts and found some beauties there . I too have found it hard to blog lately . Life in general has been up and down for many people I know . So it is quite uplifting when an old craft buddie, out of the blue ,visits a post and says hi .
